In Diablo 4 you can collect weapons without end. But suddenly players notice that something doesn’t seem right with the names.
Rare items, useful weapons, powerful equipment – items really abound in Diablo 4 now. You can find them in different designs and rarities, and once you’ve bagged a cool new item, the first thing you usually look at is the new weapon’s stats.
But a few users in the Diablo 4 reddit let their gaze wander and took a closer look at the weapons – and noticed something unusual.
Because apparently the names in the game don’t work at all in some cases, as other users are now noticing in their inventory.

Why is the saber straight? Players are wondering about naming in Diablo 4
Here’s what’s going on with swords: User “Funslinger” shared an overview of some swords he encountered in the game on the Diablo 4 subreddit. The curious thing: the designations do not match the weapons that can be seen there.
The user explains that the sword in the picture called “two-handed” is actually a claymore, while the claymore seems to be more of a bastard sword (one-and-a-half handed). He also finds designs on the weapons Flamberge, which should actually have a wavy blade, the Gothic Blade and other weapons that do not fit the names at all.

What are other players saying? With the post, the user has encouraged some players to check whether the item names are correct. In the comments, players are quite surprised that this hasn’t been noticed sooner since the release of Diablo 4 – but many agree that something must be wrong.
Some emphasize that the names don’t stop with the swords, but also apply to axes and other items, for example. They think something must have gotten mixed up in the naming.
Here are some of the votes:
There seems to be a general problem here. A curious story, but as long as at least the values are right, everything is probably not so wild. All unique items in Diablo 4 can be found here.

There is currently no information as to why some of the designations do not come up. Some players are still joking that someone in the corresponding Excel spreadsheet would probably have slipped in the line – but so far there has been no official information about what the problem is.
Have you already found items in Diablo 4 where the name does not match what is shown? If so, tell us in the comments!
