Finland Sara Kuivisto finished 11th in the 1,500 meters at the World Championships in Belgrade. The end time of the ditch was 4.12.79, which left him just over six seconds behind the Finnish record he ran in February.
The competition was won by Ethiopia Gudaf Tsegay with a race record of 3.57.19. Axumawit Embaye and Hirut Meshesha secured a triple victory for Ethiopia in the run.
Tsegay, who ran the hall’s ME last winter, took the lead at the beginning of the race and at the same time escaped from the main group. He won the race more than five seconds apart at Embaye.
Kuivisto was in a good position halfway through the race before the exhaustion began at a rapid pace. His 800-meter break was 2.11.34.
– That was a poor performance for me. Today was not my day, it was really hard, Kuivisto told Sport by phone from Belgrade.
– I should have been able to keep up with that. I don’t know, but it feels like I’ve been hit by some bullshit because I was already feeling pretty upset yesterday. It feels like someone with a stomach ailment may be on, which also ate the bangs today, he annoyed with disappointed hearing.
Kuivisto continued that Friday’s tough qualifier would not have affected his final condition, at least under normal circumstances. He emphasized that he has normally run hard in the race on consecutive days.
– Now that I am clearly in pain, I think that some illness clearly hindered my competition, he thought.
