Do you want to drink alcohol this weekend?

Then you probably have to make sure you are on time at Systembolaget.

A large part of their drinks may run out this weekend.

Due to problems in distribution, it may be difficult to get hold of the drink you want this weekend.

– This may mean that some items may sell out within a few days, says Teodor Almqvist, press officer at Systembolaget.

All beverage categories at all System companies throughout the country can be affected.

– About a quarter of our sales volume can be affected, which means that it can affect the availability of certain beers, certain wines, certain spirits, and so on.

Unclear when the problem will be solved

Some varieties may run out, but there is no risk of total drying out. However, Systembolaget does not comment on exactly what may end.

– At the moment, the total supply is not affected to any great extent, but it depends on when the distribution can start again. We don’t know that right now, says Teodor Almqvist.

In the worst case, i.e. if distribution does not start again, Systembolaget has a backup plan.

– We have a close dialogue with our distributor, and we have other distributors and will make sure that there are alternatives available in our stores, says Teodor Almqvist, who explains that the distribution of the paper bags is also affected.
