some conservative activists already regret Bojo

Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak, the two candidates for the post of Prime Minister, were in a meeting in Leeds this Thursday evening, July 28, to convince conservative activists. Within the party, a petition is circulating at the moment to include Boris Johnson in the list of finalists, and allow inserters to vote for him. In the outgoing Prime Minister’s constituency, his legacy is rather mixed but he retains fans.

From our correspondent in London, Emeline Wine

A small fair has been set up in Uxbridge but for Dottie, nothing to celebrate: she does not support either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak. ” Neither should be a candidate. I don’t like the way they treated Boris, and I don’t believe they will change things. [Ce sont des] traitors! »

Liz Truss has not resigned from the government, but the retiree considers her candidacy unfair. Beside her, her friend Lucy is more measured. ” We were two Boris fans, but he lied too much. For the next elections, I will not vote for Boris. »

No return from “Bojo” for the moment

Boris Johnson still has time to recover his political health by the next legislative elections, scheduled for 2024. Jasbir, he supports the petition which asks to authorize the Prime Minister to apply for his own succession.

He explains his approach: He should be able to. Give it a chance. Too much has happened to him in too little time. He’s only been here a few years, and he’s had to deal with Brexit, the war, Partygate… What he’s done so far, he’s done well! »

Signed by 10,000 of some 200,000 Conservative inserts, the petition has little chance of succeeding.
