It was the husband himself who reported the woman, who was in her 40s, missing in February 2022. The very next day, he was arrested on suspicion of murder and an eleven-month investigation began. On September 27, a body was found near the quay in Kvarnholmen in Nacka in connection with diving that was carried out as part of the murder investigation. The body was identified as the missing woman. According to the indictment, the man, who is 45 years old, allegedly murdered his wife by strangulation to the neck. In addition to murder, he was charged with breach of child protection, as the murder took place in front of the couple’s young son, and breach of the peace of mind by having wrapped his wife in a carpet and dumped the body in the water at Kvarnholmen. The man has admitted in questioning that he killed the woman, but claimed that it happened by mistake.
