Paramount Hero is a new MMORPG that was released on October 7th, 2022 on Steam. It is a solo project by developer Graham Darcey.
Darcey is from America and has worked in the gaming industry for over 10 years according to his LinkedIn profile. Paramount Hero is his first solo project on Steam. It is currently in Early Access and costs 12.49 euros.
The RPG Gedonia recently showed that projects by individual developers can be quite successful. It received 90% positive reviews on Steam.
What kind of game is this? Paramount Hero is an MMORPG with a classic fantasy setting. You create a character, kill monsters and complete quests. PvP is also possible.
The environment is partly handcrafted, partly procedurally generated and 3km² in size. To move you have to click on the desired spot instead of using arrow keys or WASD.
Visually, the game is reminiscent of RPGs from the 1990s, such as The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall or Planescape: Torment. However, it still looks very raw.

Who is it for? If you’re looking for a mature MMORPG with modern graphics, you’ve definitely come to the wrong place. However, if you are nostalgically reminded of the RPGs of the past and want to support a solo project, you should take a look at Paramount Hero.
Don’t be put off by bugs, after all the game is still in Early Access and only has one developer who can fix bugs.
