A solar storm was highly likely to affect Earth today (March 14), according to data analyzed by NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Physicist Dr. Tamitha Skov stated that problems can be expected especially for amateur radio and GPS systems.

Sharing a chart for the solar storm and Aurora’s 5-day view, Skov said that there would be a busy week with the triple threat.
The physicist had described the triple threat as “a massive solar storm sandwiched between a breeze from a previous solar storm and a fast solar wind.”
In the chart until March 16, the upper row shows the expected activity and the lower row shows the maximum possible activity.
SOLAR STORM HIT EARLY
Dr.Tamitha Skov, in a tweet she sent last night (March 13), noted that the storm hit early and was really strong as in the measurements. She then started retweeting the posts of Twitter users who had the opportunity to see the Northern Lights.
In his latest tweet, quoting a photo of a user, Skov said, “Unfortunately, as the skies began to darken on the East Coast of the Western Hemisphere, we emerged from what appeared to be the core of a solar storm. This caused the Aurora to shut down abruptly.” said.
