The rules for installing solar panels have therefore been adjusted. As an owner, you can simply place solar panels at the back, out of sight and flat on the roof. If it is not possible to keep the solar panels out of sight, a permit is required, Alderman Streefland explains. “Then the aesthetics committee will look into it. In some cases it is possible. Then it must be red solar panels, for example, because the color of the roof is red and it is also a special roof.” Red panels are not very easy to obtain, the alderman knows, so black is allowed once in a while.
