(Finance) – A COP29, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sogesid and AICS they organized an event, introduced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Edmondo Cirielli, dedicated to the environmental challenges of the Aral Sea. This meeting represents an opportunity to focus on the days of Bakuthe complexity of the environmental crisis affecting the water basin, which involves Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The ecological disaster of the Aral Sea is one of the most serious in modern history and today represents a global challenge for the management of natural resources and the regeneration of ecosystems. This event was a moment of return of the results of the recent Italian technical mission in Central Asia, offering an overview of the main themes and critical issues identified in the field, of the main stakeholders involved and of the project environmental regeneration of the Aral Sea as an international model of participatory governance and sustainability.
“The Aral Sea is a warning and an example of global environmental challenges which require international collaboration and a concrete commitment to sustainability”, declared the President of Sogesid Mantovanelli. “Through this event, we want to lay the foundations for inclusive governance and sustainable resource management, addressing the needs of all stakeholders.”
