An August prize winner and a famous artist are hidden among this year’s nominees for Sveriges Radio’s short story prize. Ia Genberg and Sofia Jannok are two of the five authors competing for the prize.
From the beginning, ten short stories, specially written for Sveriges Radio, were included and competed for the short story prize. Now a jury consisting of book circles from around the country has boiled down the nomination list to five pieces.
The nominees are: “And the bullets I’ll take care of until we meet again” by Zhiwar Rashid, “Guohp’àhkku” (Mold Gumman) by Sofia Jannok, “Simple cutting of small game” by Åsa Asptjärn, “Rått-Kuno” by Olle Lönnaeus and “Jane” by Ia Genberg.
The listeners decide which short story wins and the prize winner is revealed in P1 Kultur on April 17.
