After the fatal accident at Södra station in Örebro, the municipality has had a meeting with the Swedish Transport Administration and the Region about the station’s future. Municipal board chairman John Johansson (S) tells Sweden’s Radio P4 Örebro that the station area must be made safer.

Already in 2018, the parties wrote a letter of intent to develop the station area, and some measures have also been implemented since then. Now the parties must continue the process. Among the things that remain to be done is a tunnel under the railway tracks.

The three people died when they crossed a track and were hit by a freight train.
