Viktor Gyökere’s crazy goalscoring form continues.
The Swede scored a hat-trick as Sporting Lisbon faced Manchester City in the Champions League, in a game that ended 4-1 for the Portuguese giants.
– It’s always fun to score goals, and even better to score a hat-trick. It’s a great feeling, but the most important thing was that we won the game. A brilliant night for us, he said afterwards in the official TV interview.
“Knew it would be tough”
Although in the end it was a clear 4-1 victory, it was actually the English big team from Manchester who took the lead.
– We knew it would be tough and we didn’t start well at all. But we knew we would get surfaces, and we did. We could have scored more goals, but so could they, Gyökeres said, and continued:
– We played a good defensive game, and did well to score four goals. It was a good match for us.
Viktor Gyökeres now tops the scoring league in the Champions League, along with Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. He also has a goal-scoring pass, and is thus alone at the top of the scoring league.
