Soccer stars announced they were expecting a baby received

Chelsea has condemned the hateful messages that Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis, who play in the women’s premier league in England, WSL, received after news of the addition of a family.

A couple playing in England’s premier women’s soccer league, the WSL Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis told on Monday that Mewis is expecting a baby for them. Kerr’s With an Instagram account the posted message gleefully proclaimed, “Mewis-Kerr baby coming in 2025!”

On Tuesday, Chelsea, represented by Kerr, intervened in the rude social media messages received by Kerr and West Ham’s Mewis after the baby news.

– Chelsea is aware of hateful homophobic comments on various social media platforms. That kind of thing cannot be accepted, there is no place in society for any kind of discrimination, the club announced according to the BBC.

– We are very proud to be a diverse club that celebrates and welcomes people from all cultures, communities and identities.

Chelsea’s LGBTQ+ supporter group Chelsea Pride also condemned the offensive comments.

– It is so heartbreaking and infuriating to see social media flooded with hateful comments when we should be celebrating love, pride and unity.
