34-year-old Sofia Jakobsson is now leaving the American San Diego Wave. The club confirms this via its website.
– We want to thank Sofia for everything she has contributed. We wish her the best of luck in the continuation of her career, says the club’s sporting director Camille Ashton.
Jakobsson moved from Bayern Munich to San Diego on January 15, 2022 and she made a total of 52 appearances for the club.
Earlier, the BBC reported that the Swede is close to signing for big-spending London City Lionesses, in the English second division.
The team also features Kosovare Asllani, who scored on her debut on Sunday, as well as Julia Roddar.
