Sweden was drawn in group C and will be pitted against Germany, Denmark and Poland.
– In this group, Sweden should have pretty good chances, I myself have bad memories against Germany in the championship. But Sweden managed to defeat them the last time they met, says Hanna Marklund.
Bayern Munich star Julia Zigiotti Olme tells SVT Sport that the experience of playing in Germany will be an advantage for Blågult.
– It will definitely happen, you get to know the players and you meet them, so it can be to our advantage, says the 26-year-old.
If Sweden finishes first or second and advances to the quarter-finals, they will face a team from group D, which can be seen as the most difficult group.
Final in Basel
In that group, teams such as France, England, the Netherlands and Wales play.
– Of course it’s tough. Sweden will have to put in a really good performance to be able to go far in the tournament, says Hanna Marklund.
The European Championship 2025 will be played in Switzerland, which as a host country is directly qualified and placed in pot 1.
The group stage kicks off on July 2nd and runs until July 13th.
The winner of each group gets to face a runner-up from another group in the quarter-finals.
The final will be played in Basel on July 27.
