Fishing in Monster Hunter Wilds is a mechanics with which her materials and guild points get her when you catch fish. Meinmmo explains how you can unlock the fishing rod and how you can best fish.

Unlock fishing

This is how fishing switches off: To get your fishing rod, you have to complete the last quest in Chapter 1-2, “Village of the whispering winds”. After saving the team from the angry Quematrice, you finally get your fishing rod.

Chapter 1-3 then makes the first side mission available: “Fishing: Living in the microcosm.” From here you will be introduced into the world of fishing.

Talk to Kanya in the basic camp and you get different bait and rolls with which you can catch different fish. There is also a bonus for fishing. Then you start the secondary quest “Fishing: Living in the microcosm.”

So fishing you correctly

Expose the fishing rod: As soon as you have your fishing rod, you equip them like another object via the round menu in the game. Then you can throw the fishing rod. You can then move the bait with the mouse pointer or with the joystick. To start fishing, you then go to any water in which there is fish.

However, note:

  • It is important how you move the bait in the water: different fish react to different movements. So if you try to catch a new way of fish, you have to choose different approaches.
  • Some fish and living beings only appear at certain times or in certain weather conditions.

    • Fish: catch: When a fish bite, the fishing rod turns lightly and the water sprays around the bait. This is the time when you should catch up with the fishing rod or the bait. If you are successful, you get your materials and guild points. What you get depends on the caught fish.

    What alternative is there? You can also catch fish with the fishing net. This is particularly effective to catch several fish at the same time. However, the catch network is not particularly practical if the fish is further away from the country because it has a limited range.
