The world of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is large and if you are on foot, you take a long time to explore it. We show you how you can get a horse quickly and, above all, free of charge.
Why is a horse important? Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 throws you into the Bohemia of the 15th century. The game world is divided into two areas and quite large. With a horse you come faster from A to B and you can also store parts of your equipment or found loot in the saddle bag.
At the start of the game, you lose your beloved horse Pebbles, which was already a loyal companion in the first part. There are two methods to find it quickly. Either via the main quest or via an abbreviation.
Update from February 17, 2025: The contribution was structurally adapted and brought up to date.

Find the horse during the main quest
How do you find the horse? If you have the prologue behind you, Heinrich can be found alone and with only a few belongings in the village of Troskowitz. The main quest continues there.
The mission that leads you to Pebbles is called “Unwinned wedding guests”. In the Schenke of Troskowitz you meet a miller and a blacksmith. To find Pebbles, speak to the blacksmith Radovan. He gives you the job of finding a cart and goods that broke up towards Semin. In Semin, speak to Mr. Semin, who wants to get to the bottom of the matter.
You need a horse for this. You will be sent to the Semin stable and have to speak to the NPC Ballatay. Asks for a “cheap horse” and tries to convince him with “be reasonable”.
Keep that, you will receive a free horse. It turns out that it is Pebbles. You already have a horse and from then on are on the road faster.
But it works even more easily.
Find the horse without a quest
What is the alternative? You can also whistle on the course of the main quest and go to the stables directly after Semin. Talk to the stable boy as usual. If your persuasion is high enough, you manage to convince him that Pebbles has been stolen to you. Alternatively, you can also exert pressure or get the horse back with a few pennies.
There is another third option: If Pebbles is not important to you, you can simply steal any horse. However, make sure not to be seen, otherwise there are problems with the guards.
In addition, a stolen horse is not automatically preserved. Unlike Pebbles, an indiscriminately stolen Gaul does not come back to you by whistle. In addition to you, Groschen spend the Mikolai dealer in the nomadic warehouse to let the horse go into your possession.
In order to avoid problems, however, we strongly recommend resorting to Pebbles. It is up to you whether you follow the main quest or wander directly to Semin. More practical, because faster, is certainly the second method. For more guides about the game, I like to have a look at Meinmmo: Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Guides: All tips and tricks in the overview
