It was on November 24 that Börje Salming passed away from the effects of the nerve disease ALS. He was then 71 years old. At the same time, the series about his life was being filmed. Just days before he died, Börje SAlming flew to Toronto where he was celebrated in the Scotiabank Arena, and received the love and cheers of the audience.

What kind of response has Börje’s family had during the course of the project?
– They have been very warm towards us in the process. Margitta has been so fantastically nice to me. Even the children, all of them, have been so very nice to us. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they will simply like it.
How was your last meeting with Börje?
– We met during the tribute match for him in Toronto. Then we met there with the whole family. It was a favor to be able to participate in that match and to be invited by the family, says Hedda Stiernstedt.
