On February 23, 2012, shortly after 04:00 in the morning, the princess was born Estelle. Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary Bernadottethat would be her name.
Estelle is named after Estelle Bernadotte who was married to the king’s godfather Folke Bernadotte. Estelle Bernadotte lived from 1904 until 1984, but with the birth of Princess Estelle, her name will live on for many generations. The middle name Silvia comes from Queen Silvia, who is Estelle’s grandmother, and Ewa comes from grandmother Ewa Westling. The name Mary is to pay homage to Princess Estelle’s godmother who is actually Queen Mary of Denmark.
Princess Estelle is Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s first child. Four years after Estelle’s birth, the family’s youngest son arrived: a prince Oscar.
Princess Estelle and Princess Sofia – an unexpected friendship
Since 2018, Estelle has been attending school at Campus Manilla in Djurgården. In the so-called “elite school” also goes Mats Sundin’s daughter Bonnie who was born in the same year as Estelle, and the girls of the same age have become best friends. Of course, they have sports in common. Estelle is a real basketball girl and has a mother who doesn’t skip “arm day” at the gym and a father who has a past as both a personal trainer and former gym owner. At the same time, Bonnie’s father is one of the world’s best hockey players of all time.

But if Estelle sometimes needs the support of an adult role model, she also has that from several sides. In addition to mother Crown Princess Victoria, father Prince Daniel, aunt the princess Madeleine and uncle Prince Carl Philip so Estelle has also found an unexpected friend in none other than the princess Sophia.
Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip became a couple in 2009 and married on 13 June 2015. One of the bridesmaids was Princess Estelle. The circle was then closed. Three years before Sofia and Carl Philip said yes to each other in the Castle Church, Princess Estelle had actually been baptized in the same church.
Princess Sofia was there, of course, who has known Estelle since she was a newborn.

Last summer they were seen together Molly Sandén’s concert at Borgholm’s castle ruins on Öland – something that seems to be a bit of a tradition for the girls. In 2022, Sofia and Estelle were also then at a Molly Sandén concert on Öland, so that they are big Molly Sandén fans is no secret.

The fact that they got so close to each other is according to Swedish Lady that they are both real “dancing queens” and are not afraid to both dance and sing – something that perhaps the somewhat stricter Victoria is not as close to, writes the newspaper.
