All prospective socio -economists must be trained in youth crime.

It is proposed in the investigation into the socio -economic program, which is now being submitted to Minister of Education Johan Pehrson (L).

More children and young people are drawn into criminal networks and risk becoming both perpetrators and victims. Therefore, prospective socionomas need to be equipped with better knowledge of how youth crime can be prevented and how young people who want to leave the criminal environment can be supported. So the government has justified the review of the socio -economic program.

– If we can catch young people early, we can stop a criminal career. In this work, the social service plays a central role, says Education Minister Johan Pehrson.

The socio -education, which is given at 19 universities in the country, is 3.5 years long. The latest review of the degree description was made in 2006, ie almost 20 years ago.
