On Saturday, the Melodifestival tour will start in earnest again. First out is Luleå as an organizer city.
Half a decade since the last event, Birgit Lind believes it will be bigger than ever.
– We are incredibly prepared for this. It is huge investment from the municipality at one of Sweden’s biggest events.
SEK 2 million
Luleå Municipality’s budget to host is SEK 2 million, but the municipality expects Luleå as a city to get it back fairly quickly.
– It strengthens the site’s identity and brand. For those who want to move here, we show that there is meaningful leisure time, says Lind.
The city ready
Birgit Lind also sees that the Mello fever in the city is bigger than ever before. Among other things, all glitter is ending in the stores in town for those who will dress up for the folk party.
Tickets for the show on Saturday night ended in 30 minutes. Now there are only occasional tickets left for the publicly arranged rehearsals on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
The municipality also organizes additional events. On Saturday you can have the opportunity to meet the SVT profiles Bolibomparaken and the summer shadow in the basketball arena.
