So he now wants to change Swedish hockey – to get rid of filming for good

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

SHL is now doing everything to get rid of filming.
But SVT experts Jonas Andersson had wanted to give the judges even more aids.
– It is a few players who are responsible for the vast majority of the filming, he says.

In recent years, supporters and experts have increasingly talked about filming. The problem is clear – and everyone agrees that it does not belong in sport. But despite that, you see players manage to get sent off, year after year, after falling easily.

Take action against filming

Players in the SHL have become pure objects of hatred due to their reputation for falling easily, and before this year’s SHL season, the refereeing team has made it clear that they want it removed completely. The head referee Tomas Thorsbrink has visited all the clubs to talk about this, and that they will take action against it.

Jonas Andersson, hockey expert in SVT, welcomes the news, but suffers at the same time with the referees.

– I think it’s a problem because it’s almost impossible for the judges to see and you can create sporting success by filming, Andersson says in SVT.

Clear proposal

Andersson, however, would like to do even more. He believes that the judges need help – and therefore proposes a major change.

– Personally, I would like to see the referee have an opportunity to check the video during the match, because it is required. You have it on certain other measures, and then harsher punishments so you get punished there and then, and then fines of course. Then it is important that we talk about it in the media so that it is highlighted and does not become socially accepted with filming in hockey, he says.

However, Jonas Andersson is careful to point out that the problem with filming is not a very general problem – but that it is rather a matter of a clique of players.

– This is not a general problem, it is a few players who are responsible for the vast majority of the filming and the judges have a solid grasp of who it is, the fellow and opposing players know who it is, so it is not that it is a consistent problem in ice hockey, but it affects many, says Andersson.
