A massive snow storm is expected in western Svealand for the next 24 hours. A yellow warning for snowfall has been issued.

This applies to Dalarna, Västmanland and parts of Värmland.

Can be ten centimeters

– There may be between five and ten centimeters from tonight at 8pm until tomorrow evening, says Lasse Rydqvist, meteorologist at Klart.

It will also be windy in connection with the snowfall, which can lead to poor visibility and problems in traffic.

Late on Monday, there was also a yellow warning for snowfall in eastern Svealand, i.e. Stockholm County, Uppsala County and Södermanland County.

Rain and sleet

In other parts of Svealand and Götaland, it will be a little milder with rain and sleet.

Colder air is expected over the next 24 hours, which could lead to sudden ice slippage, both in Svealand and Götaland.

– There is currently a yellow warning for it in eastern Svealand, but that warning may be extended to apply to other parts of the country, says Lasse Rydqvist.

Cool in the north

In northern Sweden it gets really cold. During Wednesday morning, the temperature drops to just over 20 degrees below zero in northern Norrland’s interior.

Cloudiness will then increase throughout the country during Thursday. It also passes an area of ​​rain and sleet over Öland and Gotland and closest to the east coast.

The forecast for the weekend is currently uncertain.

Cold air lurks while the milder air resists.

– As it looks now, at least no new snow storm is expected, says Lasse Rydqvist.
