Yellow and orange warnings are issued for several parts of the country during Tuesday. SMHI warns of strong winds and snowfall in the north, and of high water flows in the south.

At 20:00 on Tuesday, the wind in the Northern Lapland Mountains is expected to pick up speed. An orange warning is issued for very strong winds combined with snowfall. People are strongly advised against going out on the mountain, writes the county administrative board in Norrbotten on its Facebook page.

This is due both to the fact that it is difficult to move, that the risk of frostbite is great and that rescue efforts are made more difficult.

In places it can blow 20 meters per second. In the Gulf of Bothnia even a little more.

A little to the south, in large parts of central Norrland, there is a warning of rain and sudden icy conditions. A yellow warning is issued from lunchtime on Tuesday and a bit into the night.

– It is milder air that presses on and can produce freezing rain, says Marie Staerk, meteorologist at SMHI.

Skellefteå power warns of power outages in Västerbotten as a result of the snow on trees and wires melting if the temperature rises above zero.

A little further south, in Arbogaån, an orange warning for flooding remains since last week. The risk decreases downstream, past Arboga and to Kungsör, but still reaches a yellow warning.

And further south there is a warning for high flows in several directions. Svartån, Silverån, Nedre Alsterån, Nedre Lagan, Lyckebyån and Bräkneån all have yellow warnings for flooding.
