The loss of life is increasing due to the snowstorm and arctic cold affecting a large part of the USA. The number of deaths across the country since last week due to extreme cold has increased to 89.

While the most losses occurred in Tennessee, with at least 25 deaths, Oregon ranked second with 16 deaths. Deaths were also reported in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Washington, Kentucky, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey and many other states.

In Seattle, Washington state, 5 people, most of them homeless, died in just four days.

In Mississippi, high schools and universities postponed the return of students from winter break due to adverse weather conditions.

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WERE LEFT WITHOUT ELECTRICITY

Approximately 10 thousand people were left without electricity in Oregon, 8 thousand in North Carolina, 7 thousand in California and 4 thousand 300 in Kentucky. Adverse weather conditions are expected to continue until the beginning of the week.
