Sankka Pyry will bring snow to Norway and Sweden on Monday and Tuesday.
In Norway, it can snow up to 50 centimeters in some places. A very heavy snowfall warning is in effect in several areas until Tuesday. The warning also applies to the capital Oslo. In coastal areas, snow may later turn into rain.
In Sweden, the heaviest snowfall is expected in the southwestern and northwestern parts of Sveanmaa, where about 15-30 centimeters of snow can fall. The Swedish Meteorological Institute warns of severe frost in northern Sweden, which may affect train traffic.
In a large part of central Sweden, there are warnings of snow or slush and strong winds, which will make both road and rail traffic difficult. The Swedish Transport Agency has advised to avoid traveling today.
