Snow in Southwestern Ontario, already? Yes (sorry)

The first snowfall of the season has landed in parts of Southwestern Ontario.

In the beachside town of Port Burwell, on the shores of Lake Erie, residents awoke on Thursday to a relatively early glimpse of winter after an overnight dumping of snow. Photos show a significant layer on lawns and outdoor furniture.

“I’m glad I got the snow tires on the car this week,” one resident wrote on social media.

It appears unlikely to last long. Environment Canada was calling for a daytime high of 3 C on Thursday in Port Burwell, with rain possibly rolling in.

Parts of Norfolk County also had periods of snow on Thursday morning, but no accumulation.

The gray November weather is also expected to continue in the local area for the next several days.

Environment Canada is calling for daytime highs of 9 C on Friday and 8 C on Saturday and Sunday with rain each day in Norfolk. It’ll be much the same to start the work week on Monday, with a forecast high of 10C for the county.

Weather forecasters are calling for a high of 7C in Brantford on Friday, followed by high of 8C on Saturday with rain also in the forecast. Expect to see a high of 7C on Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds.

It’s been a remarkably mild fall across the London region but The Weather Network reported on Tuesday that that may be ending across southern Ontario, with expectations that temperatures could be colder than normal as the calendar flips to December next weekend and more snow starts falling.
