The spring weather of the last few days is coming to an end more quickly than expected: many departments will face a severe cold snap this weekend.
Temperatures rose considerably in France last week, being above seasonal norms in places. Despite everything, the gray and rain persist in certain departments. For this week of March 18, The Weather Channel forecasts “variable weather” across the country. The first half of this week promises to be fairly calm with gray weather in the north and near the English Channel this Tuesday and with a “hesitant and threatening sky near the Pyrenees”. For the first day of spring this Wednesday, March 20, La Chaîne Météo forecasts a dry and mild day in the north but gray in the south.
The weather is expected to deteriorate from Thursday onwards. The sky will become more and more hesitant before grayness sets in on Friday March 22. The Weather Channel does not predict rain but a significant drop in temperatures from Friday. The weather is expected to deteriorate further this weekend of March 23 and 24. The Weather Channel announces a weekend marked by “unstable weather which will spread throughout the country”.
The weather forecast site specifies that the national thermal indicator will be above seasonal norms until Friday before dropping drastically this Saturday 23 to reach temperatures below normal.

Regarding the temperatures for this Sunday, the minimums will be between 3°C as in Aurillac, Montélimar, Dijon and Charleville-Mézières and 8°C, notably along the Mediterranean, from Perpignan to Nice via Montpellier and to Corsica. In the afternoon, La Chaîne Météo forecasts 10°C in Paris, Orléans, Brest and Lyon. It will be 8°C in Strasbourg, Lille and Dijon and 9°C in Rouen. The maximum will be 17°C in Nice and it will be 15°C between Perpignan and Marseille. On the Atlantic coast, La Chaîne Météo forecasts 12°C from Nantes to Bordeaux and 13°C in Biarritz.
