SNCF strike traffic less disrupted this Thursday 16 forecasts

SNCF TRAFFIC. The new day of interprofessional strike against the pension reform of this Thursday, February 16 will have less impact than the previous ones on the SNCF rail network. TGV, TER, RER, discover traffic forecasts.

[Mis à jour le 15 février 2023 à 12h01] The strike of February 16 against the pension reform project examined this week in the National Assembly will be less followed than the previous ones at the SNCF. Users who must take a TGV or an Intercités have already been informed of the cancellation or maintenance of their train by email or SMS in order to exchange their ticket free of charge or be reimbursed in full.

On the TER side, traffic will be one in two trains and users, who are not notified by name, will have to check directly on the site of their regional train. In Ile-de-France, the situation will be more complicated with all RER and Transilien lines disrupted with the exception of lines A and H.

According to SNCF forecasts, 4 out of 5 TGVs will run on average, Thursday, February 16, throughout France, while two out of three Ouigo will be maintained. Only regional trains will be the most impacted with one in two trains for TER and Intercités. Forecast details:

  • TGV disruptions : this Thursday, February 16, 2023, plan 2 trains out of 3 on the southeast axis and on the Ouigo and almost normal traffic on the North, East and Atlantic routes. From province to province, plan 2 out of 3 trains.

  • Intercity disruptions : 1 train out of 2 on average this Thursday 16 February. Night intercity : no traffic in the night from Wednesday to Thursday!
  • RER A disruptions : normal traffic this Thursday 16 February.
  • RER B disruptions : this Thursday, February 16, traffic is disrupted on the entire line. Schedule 1 train out of 2 all day between Gare du Nord and Mitry Claye and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 until 10:45 p.m. (closed for works). Plan 2 trains out of 3 all day between Gare du Nord and Robinson and Saint-Rémy lès Chevreuse. The interconnection is maintained at Gare du Nord.
  • RER C disruptions : traffic disrupted this Thursday, February 16.
  • RER D disruptions : heavily disrupted traffic this Thursday, February 16.
  • RER E disruptions : traffic disrupted this Thursday, February 16.
  • Transilien disruptions : normal traffic on line H, disrupted on lines J, K, L, N and P. Traffic on line R is severely disrupted, with replacement buses between Melun and Montereau via Héricy. For the Transilien network, there is a dedicated platform to follow the next traffic disruptions.
  • International train disruptions : almost normal traffic on the Eurostar and the Thalys and 1 Lyria out of 2 this Thursday 16 February. Regarding the other international connections, the SNCF expects almost normal traffic.

Through a communicated published on February 10, “the trade unions CGT Cheminots, UNSA-Ferroviaire, SUD-Rail and CFDT Cheminots reaffirm their total commitment, and that of the railway workers, in the large-scale social movement which is settling in the country for the long term” by participating “massively to the demonstrations” and by acting “through the strike on February 16, 2023 to broaden, amplify the mobilization and prepare the necessary follow-up to bring down this reform”.

Travelers on canceled TGV and Intercités trains receive the information via e-mail or SMS between 24 and 48 hours in advance (provided they have provided their contact details when booking). On the other hand, users of TER without a connection do not receive SMS. It is advisable to verify the information by informing its train number the day before and just before departure on the SNCF site.
