Several media have been communicating since Thursday afternoon on a chatbot set up by the SNCF to request the reimbursement of 200% of train tickets canceled because of the strike. However, there is an easier way to obtain the long-awaited refund: an online form allows you to request the voucher for double the value of your ticket directly, for the TGV, Inouï and Intercités. Just follow this link to the SNCF website.

The SNCF put online in the middle of the afternoon this page which allows to claim the exceptional reimbursement linked to the strike of the railway workers from December 23 to 26. This exceptional compensation measure is the result of very heavy disturbances because of the social movement, in the middle of the Christmas weekend. It comes in addition to the reimbursement of the price of the train ticket in the event of a canceled trip.

Special procedure for Ouigo and TER

The exceptional reimbursement is made in the form of a digital voucher, for all journeys by TGV, Inouï, in France and in Europe, Intercités and Ouigo which have been canceled from December 23 to 26 inclusive. Regarding the Ouigo journeys, the SNCF indicates that there is no action to be taken, the compensation being sent by email in the coming days. The company nevertheless refers to a Ouigo website page for more information.As for TER, the request can be made to the customer service of the region concerned via the “Services & Contacts” section of the site. The exceptional compensation of 200% of the price of the canceled ticket cannot be delivered to you at SNCF stations or shops. It does not apply to Eurostar and Thalys journeys.
