SNCF STRIKE. A new strike date will be considered from next week, the unions wishing to continue the movement against the pension reform “over time”.
[Mis à jour le 20 janvier 2023 à 13h56] Thursday, January 19 was a black day on the French rail, because of the first day of strike against the pension reform desired by the government of Elisabeth Borne. The SNCF unions indicated that the rate of strikers had reached 46.3% within the company, which led to many canceled trains throughout the territory. And, although the railway company’s unions’ strike notice ended this Friday morning at 8 a.m., disruptions are nevertheless announced locally.
What do we know about a possible sequel to the movement?
All the questions now relate to the follow-up that the SNCF unions will decide to give to this movement. Friday morning, the general secretary of the CGT Cheminots Federation Laurent Brun, guest on RMC, called for continued mobilization: “We are only at the beginning of the process”, warned Laurent Brun. Other days of mobilization on the part of the SNCF, and therefore disruptions in the TGV, TER, Intercités or Transiliens, could therefore take place before January 31!
