SNCF strike: a notice this Thursday 26 and a renewable strike in February

SNCF strike a notice this Thursday 26 and a renewable

SNCF STRIKE. If the date of January 31 is in everyone’s mind, at the SNCF, a new strike notice must begin on the 26th. But the CGT and Sud-Rail have also already brandished the threat of a renewable strike from mid -february.

[Mis à jour le 24 janvier 2023 à 21h01] The SNCF strike against the pension reform will continue, even intensify. In view of the success of the first day of mobilization on January 19, the CGT-Cheminots had announced the color the same evening in a communicated : “A strike notice covering all GPU agents for the period from from Wednesday January 25, 2023 at 7 p.m. to Thursday February 2, 2023 at 8 a.m. [a été déposé]“What to mobilize on Tuesday, January 31 with the inter-union and the other sectors, but also to warm up before and extend a little after the key date.

However, it is difficult for the moment to know exactly what to expect. Will the SNCF strike be followed? Are we heading towards a weekend of general chaos on the French rail? If, on January 19, the mobilization had been particularly followed by the railway workers, nothing says that this will be the case for all the additional dates of the SNCF. On the other hand, there is a good chance that January 31 will be a “black Tuesday”.

Are we heading towards an indefinite strike at the SNCF?

Our colleagues from 20 minutes announced on Tuesday January 24 that the CGT-Cheminots and SUD-Rail unions have also proposed a renewable strike “from mid-February” at the SNCF, if the government does not withdraw its pension reform, with, initially, “dtwo consecutive days of strike on February 7 and 8″ 2023.

On the evening of January 31, the CGT Cheminots and SUD-Rail unions will propose “to meet in general assemblies and to debate the intensification of the action by two consecutive days of strike. (…) And, for lack of withdrawal of the text, to consider the strike renewable by periods of 24 hours from mid-February”.
