During six months, the man is suspected of having illegally smuggled 47 people into Sweden via the Polen ferry to Verköhamnen in Karlskrona. Now the man is charged with serious human trafficking, reports SVT Nyheter Blekinge.
In total, there are twelve occasions where the man has brought foreign citizens – for compensation – into the country. According to the TV channel, the man has earned large sums of money from human smuggling.
The man was arrested after a customs check on New Year’s Day this year and has been in custody since then.
