This is an aspect that is not often mentioned, but smoking represents a real loss of luck in love. According to a recent study, smokers generally get half as many dates as non-smokers.

To motivate some people to quit smoking, perhaps it is necessary to evoke their potential for seduction? Indeed, according to a study, smokers receive far fewer dating proposals than non-smokers.

Your potential for seduction goes up in smoke

By analyzing the more than 460,000 user profiles, a recent study reveals that smokers encounter different difficulties in their romantic encounters.

Specifically, a total of 466,949 users of the online dating and chatting app dua.com were analyzed according to the information mentioned: tags #smoker #occasional smoker #non-smoker on their profiles. From there, the likes and matches received per user were identified.

The study looked at the age groups of all users to determine if there is a correlation between a user’s smoking habits and their success on the app.

Result: in general, smokers receive 52.7% of appointments compared to non-smokers.

    Cigarettes, a barrier to dating

This study therefore offers unique insight into the impact of smoking on romantic relationships. And women are not left out. For them too, smoking greatly impacts their seduction quotient. Non-smoker women receive 63.6% more matches (or “match”) overall than smokers in online dating.

More generally, regardless of sex, non-smokers “match” much more than smokers, with results up to 111.4% higher!

Singles, think before you light your next cigarette!

For Eduard Luta, representative of dua.com, “even if the results confirm what many people already think, the statistics are no less impressive. They indicate that a healthy lifestyle not only improves your well-being, but also has a positive impact on your love life.”.

Finally, the study shows that 18-24 year olds, the age group with the most smokers, is also the group most affected, with 48% fewer matches! If you are single, this is one more argument to encourage you to quit smoking for good!
