Uppland and Gotland can count on continued snow showers during the weekend, with up to a decimetre of fresh snow. SMHI also warns of fresh winds.

– Cold air has moved in over the country and it is also quite windy over the sea, so in combination there will be streaks of snow flurries that move in over Gotland and Uppland, says meteorologist Linnea Rehn Wittskog at SMHI.

SMHI has issued a series of yellow warnings for gales at sea, from the Gulf of Bothnia down to the southern Baltic Sea, as well as for snow flurries that may be heavy in Uppsala and northern Stockholm County as well as Gotland.

– The snow villages look like they will continue to feed for a while into Sunday, says Linnea Rehn Wittskog.

– Other than that, the weather is fairly mild. There is cold air all over the country, but at the same time it looks like it could be sunny in many places. It is in eastern Svealand, the eastern parts of Norrland, Öland and Gotland that it is cloudy, she continues.

The Swedish Transport Administration warns of difficult road conditions, with slippery conditions, snow and/or strong winds on Gotland. Furthermore, there is a warning of snowdrifts and snowdrifts on the E18 between Enköping and Bålsta, as well as on roads around Norrtälje and Gävle.
