SMHI warns of torrential rain and thunder

The weather is still unsettled and heavy thundershowers and large amounts of rain are expected in parts of the country.
“Large amounts of rain lead to high flows in ditches and streams,” writes SMHI on its website.

SMHI has issued a yellow warning for torrential rain on Friday afternoon in southern Värmland and the northern part of Västra Götaland county. A yellow warning for high flows has also been issued for the area north of Lake Vättern. The warning is valid from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m

The large amounts of rain are expected to produce 35 millimeters of precipitation in three hours and may cause local flooding.

This is how the weather will be – next week

The weekend may offer some glimpses of sunshine in the northern parts of the country, but the unsettled weather looks set to continue next week as well.

– There is a new area of rain coming in next week and it looks like it will rain in large parts of the country, says TV4’s meteorologist Caroline Andersson.

If we look further to the end of next week and the weekend, we can expect higher temperatures in the country.

– Some cold air remains at the beginning of the week, but it looks like a little warmer air is coming in, at least in southern Sweden, says Caroline Andersson.
