A snowfall area has moved in over large parts of Götaland and western Svealand on the night of Thursday, writes SMHI on its website where it issued yellow warnings that the snow could “cause problems in traffic”.
In the western parts of the country, large parts of the bus service have had to be canceled due to the slippage, including in Dalsland, Strömstad, Uddevalla and Vänersborg, reports P4 West.
— There may be some accidents and delays, so you have to plan so that you have plenty of time for your journey, says Katarina Andersson at SMHI to GP.
For eastern Svealand, the snow is expected to change to rain in the afternoon and evening, and SMHI has therefore issued a yellow warning for sudden ice slippage.
The forecast for the New Year weekend currently shows that a “deep and widespread low pressure” with snow and windy weather will move in and the central parts of the country could experience “quite difficult conditions”, according to SMHI. However, it is emphasized that this forecast is still uncertain and may be adjusted.
