A low pressure is moving north which brings precipitation. At first as rain, but during Tuesday morning it turns into snowfall or sleet over northern Norrbotten’s interior.
Until Wednesday, 10-20 centimeters of fresh snow is expected, locally up to 30 centimeters.
– It is uncertain how much of the snow will initially melt away, but despite that, large amounts of snow are expected to settle, writes SMHI on its website.
Limited accessibility
Snowfall in combination with wind can create problems in car and train traffic. There may be very limited access on roads, delays in public transport and power outages may occur in areas with overhead power lines, which also affects mobile networks for telecommunications.
SMHI has also issued a yellow warning for snowfall in the interior and the mountains.
