Saturday’s snow storm left its mark in many places around Sweden. In Småland’s Oskarshamn, a total of 49.2 centimeters of snow fell, while the capital Stockholm was hit hard with, among other things, several delays in local traffic.

Sunday means no break for the snow and SMHI’s warnings apply to several counties in the country. In south-eastern Skåne there is an orange warning from 03:00 and in Stockholm the same warning applies from 18:00 and throughout the next 24 hours, when there may be upwards of 30 centimeters of heavy, wet snow in the capital area.

Amounts that can cause it – quite a lot.

– It starts properly here in the evening, and comes in different rounds. It is a very serious situation to be out in and I would advise against going out, says Ulrika Elvgren, meteorologist at TV4 Nyheterna.

The orange warnings in Skåne and Stockholm were followed after lunch on Sunday by another one in the same color – this time on Gotland, where from 16:00 until lunchtime on Monday it could fall in such copious amounts of snow that it could cause delays, power outages and accidents.
