Early on Tuesday morning, the police received an alarm about a serious theft on Stureplan in central Stockholm. Witnesses had seen at least two men smash a shop window with a wheel loader. The men picked up stolen goods of unclear value and then left the place.
– A large police operation was launched to find the suspect car, but we currently have no detainees, says police spokesman Per Fahlström.
The wheel loader remains on the spot and is being investigated by the police who will also be collecting testimonies from the public.
– Since the theft took place in the middle of the city, there is hopefully also a lot of material from the area’s surveillance cameras to go through, says Per Fahlström.
