Three people, including a 60-year-old Danish man, have died after a small plane crashed on an island just outside Perth in Western Australia, reports ABC News.
The plane crashed shortly after takeoff on Tuesday. Among the dead were also a 65-year-old woman from Switzerland and the pilot, a 34-year-old Australian. Four people survived the crash.
Australia’s Road Safety Authority says in a statement that it has received reports that the aircraft must have collided with the surface of the water in connection with take-off.
