Slovan Bratislava has reached the group stage of the Champions League for the first time in its club history.
Croatian Marko Tolicin28, two goals swept Slovakia’s Slovan Bratislava to the group stage of the Champions League in a historic 4-3 aggregate score.
Denmark’s Midtjylland led the crucial second part of the UCL qualifying round in Slovakia with a score of 2-1 ten minutes before the end and at that point caught the next place after the first leg had ended with a 1-1 result.
However, Slovan Bratislava was able to make a miraculous rise in front of the home crowd.
Tolic’s second goal of the night and a handsome long shot tied the score at 2-2 in the 82nd minute of the match. Just three minutes later Tigran Barseghyan also shot from outside the penalty area with his dream move to make the final numbers 3–2.
FC Midtjylland, which is second in the Danish league, experienced quite a knock-out defeat after being stuck in the group stage of the Champions League for half an hour.
The other teams that reached the UCL group stage on Wednesday were Dinamo Zagreb, Crvena Zvezda and Lille.
