‘Sloppy and lax’ former State Secretary Linschoten deserves community service, Supreme Court rules

Sloppy and lax former State Secretary Linschoten deserves community service

Linschoten, now 65, was sentenced on appeal in September 2020 to 100 hours of community service. The Public Prosecution Service had demanded five months in prison, three of which were conditional. The requirement was equal to the sentence that the Linschoten court gave in September 2017. The former politician, who was working as an independent consultant at the time, has always denied intentionally committing fraud. He admitted to being “incredibly sloppy and lax”.
