Sleep deprivation, hunger and manipulation in love is blind

Love Is Blind is a smash hit for Netflix. In the dating show, participants get to know each other without seeing each other and, if the outcome is happy, they even celebrate their wedding at the end. Things don’t seem quite so rosy behind the scenes, however: participants report inhumane production conditions, Hunger, sleep deprivation and suicidal thoughts. According to a Business Insider report quoted by Rolling Stone, several participants had immensely negative experiences during filming. 20 hour days of shooting are said to have caused sleep deprivation. A lack of sunlight, water and food ensured that, according to Season 2 contestant Danielle Ruhl at times fighting over a single boiled egg.
