Antonio Filosa, Jeep’s CEO, describes the Wagoneer as “a true American icon” and the model is said to be the originator of the luxury SUV segment when it was first launched in 1963.
Although the Wagoneer designation is already in use in the United States, it has yet to reach European soil. Until now.
The model is first launched in the USA and then comes to Europe.

The Wagoneer comes to Europe in fully electric form in the form of the Wagoneer S, which has its sights set squarely on the Tesla Model Y.
In a promotional video, which you can see below, Jeep pits an Avenger S against a Tesla Model Y in a drag race.
“All credit to the Model Y,” said Anontio Filosa, Jeep’s newly appointed CEO, praising Tesla’s success.
He then put on a video showing how the Jeep Wagoneer S won against a Tesla Model Y in a drag race.
Jeep boasts how the Wagoneer S reaches 96 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. That’s thanks to 600 horsepower and over 800 newton meters. How relevant now could possibly be for a Jeep.
The video also shows how the Wagoneer S moves away from the safe bosom of the asphalt and manages to drive away from one Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawka 6 year old vehicle.
The idea with the Wagoneer S is thus to be more urban than its stablemates and has also not undergone the regular off-road tests that models like Wrangler make.

The idea with the Wagoneer S is also to adopt a more sustainable mindset, and a large part of the interior is recyclable. Removing chromium from the range is therefore done for environmentally friendly reasons.
