It was during the Friday evening of May 12 that a fight broke out in the industrial area in Asarum. When the police and ambulance got there, two people were found stabbed, and a man in his 40s was arrested.
Raised several times
One of the injured, a man in his 30s, later died of his injuries. Now the murder investigation is coming to an end.
– We are in the process of tying the bag together. We have some witnesses left to hear, and are waiting for some answers from the National Forensic Center which should come in early September. My hope is to be able to bring charges in October, says Lena-Marie Bergström, prosecutor in the case.
The other man, who is in his 35s, was seriously injured.
– There are quite a few stab wounds he received as well, but he has been allowed to leave the hospital and has no permanent wounds that I know of. But we will hear him tell about that himself in a possible trial, says Lena-Marie Bergström.
Denies crime
The suspect admits that he is the one who caused the injuries to the two men – but denies any crime.
– He was in an emergency situation, and based on that, the violence he used is not unjustifiable. That’s why he denies any crime, says Tommy Nilsson, the man’s defense lawyer.
