Skull and Bones is disappointing with its low player count on Steam. AC Black Flag still has more players.
Ubisoft’s long-awaited pirate adventure Skull and Boneshasn’t caught on on Steam, with its player count hovering around just 400.
Skull and Bones Fails to Make Expected Rise
After 11 years of arduous development, Skull and Bones hit Steam on August 22nd, but it didn’t quite explode as Ubisoft had hoped. The move away from Ubisoft Connect and to Steam was seen as a good move to attract PC gamers. However, it only reached 394 concurrent players on launch day. That number rose to 432 the next day, but it still fell far short of rivals like Sea of Thieves. For comparison, its rival Sea of Thieves currently has 5,667 concurrent players.
This is made even more ironic because Skull and Bones has a lower player count than one of its inspirations, another Ubisoft game, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. Despite being an 11-year-old game, Black Flag reached 758 concurrent players in the last 24 hours, a hundred more players than Skull and Bones.
Skull and Bones was a huge disappointment for Ubisoft, with low player counts on Steam.
