The 35-year-old describes the pregnancy as a dream come true.
– I have never taken for granted that I will become a mother. It is important that there is more talk about this taboo, that it is not a matter of course for everyone to be able to become parents. Obvious concerns
Kalla admits that because of the skiing career, a lot of anxious thoughts came in connection with the couple deciding to have children.
– For me, it was not obvious that it would work, because I have had irregular periods during my skiing career. It didn’t stop when I stopped skiing. No, it took patience to get pregnant, says Charlotte.
Once the news became reality that she was pregnant, it came as an extremely happy surprise.
– Yes, it did. Even though my period didn’t appear, I didn’t think it was real. It was hard to accept that I was really pregnant because I didn’t feel any classic pregnancy symptoms, she says in an interview with Motherhood.
But there was also a clear anxiety amidst the great happiness of becoming parents. Charlotte Kalla now admits it and opens up about the tough thoughts that arose.
– If we were allowed to keep the child. It was kind of hard to dare to hope too much, she says.
