Match four between Skellefteå and Rögle was the first in the final series to go to extra time.

After a goalless first period, Skellefteå AIK took the lead when Andreas Johnson took the surface in the offensive zone and sent a shot that, via Ludvig Claesson’s club, put Christoffer Rifalk in the Rögle goal.

The answer from Rögle came in the second period when they took advantage of games in numerical superiority for the first time during the final series. Anton Bengtsson headed in the pass from Simon Ryfors.

There was great drama in the final stages of the match. Skellefteå put a lot of pressure on Rögle’s goal and created some chances but with 20 seconds left, Simon Ryfors got a free position but Linus Söderström resisted and it then swung the other way and Christoffer Rifalk had to make a save from close range.

– What is happening?, asked TV4’s expert, Staffan Kronwall.

But the match went to extra time. Once there, Rögle made the best start and Dennis Everberg had a great chance, but with the puck on the edge, the Scot went over high. Instead, it would be Skellefteå AIK who decided. Andreas Johnson headed in the pass from Anton Olsson and now Skellefteå has the chance to decide the final series on Monday at home in Skellefteå Kraft Arena.

– On Monday it’s a new match and we have to learn what we can do better so we’ll go out and have a good match. An incredibly nice victory, said Filip Sandberg after the decision.
