Skellefteå got off to a good start in the seventh and decisive semi-final against Fröluna. Jayden Halbgewachs ended up in the penalty box after 91 seconds of play. A minute later, Jonathan Johnson stepped forward and scored the lead goal.

But the answer from Frölunda came shortly afterwards and when Jere Innala, in the goal form he is in, was allowed to get free against Linus Söderström, there was only one given outcome. He outwitted Söderström and 1-1 was a fact.

However, the joy was short-lived for Frölunda. Martin Dzierkals won a duel in front of goal and broke up 2-1.

The expulsions would be costly for Frölunda this Thursday evening.

At the end of the second period, a team penalty was incurred for six players on the ice. That was thanks to Linus Lindström and Skellefteå who made it 3-1. Andreas Johnson, Skellefteå’s suspended star was glimpsed in the broadcast in a real goal celebration.

– We are strong in the power play and feel safe there, said a satisfied Linus Lindström after two periods played.

Skellefteå played large parts of the third period in a controlled manner and with a little more than four minutes left to play, the move came from Roger Rönnberg. Lasse Johansson was picked off and another outfield player on the ice.

However, there was no payoff for Frölunda, instead Max Lindholm was able to decide definitively in an open cage.
